I love the distinction here that whenever neurothology attempts to apply its observations from neuroscience to the spiritual realm, they are no longer using the tools of science, but switching to the realm covered by philosophy of science. There is no direct scientific source for spiritual formation, because that is outside its domain of knowledge.
